Fixed the airbag. I used Alldatadiy’s troubleshooting guide and wiring diagrams and found it had an open wire, the dark brown one that goes from X1 pin A at the driver airbag to pin 8 on the SDM (SIR deployment module) under the driver seat. I used an appropriate dark brown wire and attached it at the 2 ends of the harness. I didn’t want to cut all the tape and loom off the harness in order to locate the exact break or cut. Hooked up the Tech2, cleared the codes and rechecked. The only one still there is for the driver seat sensor because the seat is out of the truck. DTC B0012 04 Driver Front Deployment Loop Stage 1 Open Circuit is no longer present for the first time in forever. Yay. Now I just have some reassembling to do.

I don’t think I had anything to do with the original issue. Gotta remember this truck was completely disassembled when they built the new frame for it. They probably nicked it and it finally broke when I was working on it. The front wheel tubs are cut back into the firewall and the interior fuse panel, the BCM and everything else in that area on the driver side has been torn out and relocated along with everything under the hood. The heater core and air box were torn out and relocated also because of the tub on the passenger side. There’s been a lot of work done to this thing. Some of it they did a good job on, some not so much but i have just about got everything right.

I spent a couple hours putting it back together. I’m taking my time, cleaning up some of the wiring and I mounted the communication module this time instead of shoving it in a hole. The bracket that held it in my other dash didn’t work on this dash. I’ll finish tomorrow.

I had some LED plate lights that I bought over a year ago and since I wanted footwell lights...plus the wire I had run across the bottom of the dash to repair a short was right there... I mounted them up. Here’s the passenger side, the driver was about the same. There’s places for them to attach with the included double sided tape on both sides. They’re strips attached to flat metal plates. I was afraid they were too bright but they’re perfect. I soldered heavier wires to them, the ones on them were like the size of a couple hair strands.

I installed the logo lights in my door panels. For some reason the pics don’t come out right for night time shots. They look way better in person. This with the truck at drive height. I like them although some might think they’re rice.
