I bought some Griots Garage Speed Shine awhile back and tried it out today. The truck hasn’t been driven or washed for 2 weeks and had a good dust layer on it. Normally I would have done a normal wash but decided to try this. I was surprised that it worked so good. I used one of their PFM cloths. It took about 10 minutes to do the whole exterior and came out glowing. It can be used on interiors and glass too. Then as I’m finishing up putting the headliner in I notice this. I had parked it out in the sun for a couple days. In reality I figured this was going to happen sooner or later. The dash was used, probably an original, and I paid $75 for it so I’m not heartbroken. But it’s a big chunk of change for a new one. Probably. It was 100* out which means what 150 in the truck? i didn't even think about it. It's kept under a shade for just that reason. All the NNBS dashes crack in those 2 places. The new parts supposedly have reinforcement in those areas and I'll beef the new one up with steel rods and epoxy. I guess I need to spend $650 now. I can't go the dash cover method, no way. Sigh.

I bought a new gm one for the avalanche last year. I couldn’t tell a difference in the reinforcement, fwiw. Now the filler is broken. It’s like $300. I’ll get a replacement soon. A dash cracking is some serious bulls*it.

Oh yeah. My filler is new, I replaced it when I first replaced a cracked dash in it when it was still an LT interior. Luckily I sold that dash locally for what I had into it because it wasn't long after I replaced it that I decided to swap an LTZ interior into the truck. Somehow at the time I bought that LT dash for $400 shipped. They're $650 now, same as the Tahoe/LTZ that I need. But $300 for that flat filler piece is even more ridiculous than the cost of the dash itself.

Where did you get your filler? Cost? I could be renewing the cost wrong. Was thinking it was $250 or something plus shipping
