Hello, I recently came across a pretty good price for a 2009 Yukon XL with 170k miles. What I have seen so far looks pretty good, except for the passenger side rockers and rear quarter panel. I am noticing a decent amount of rust, and wanted to get some feedback from you all on whether or not:
1) It looks manageable to you (either by basic primer sprays and some POR15),
2) If it would be worth an immediately inspection (which I would do regardless, just trying to get a feel for realistic scope of this issue.

Are there any glaring red flags besides the rust that you are seeing?IMG-20221204-WA0001.jpgIMG-20221204-WA0000.jpg

The quarter is rusted through and it is questionable if the rust on the rocker is just on the surface or coming from the inside out. The correct way to fix both is to cut the rust out and weld in new metal. I would pass.
However, what is the price?

What you see is just the tip of the iceberg. Below and inside will be much worse. I agree with above on a PASS. You'll never be able to actually FIX it and it will be a continuous, disappointing battle.

If it's cheap, then you could run it as is and part it out when done. Or use it as a donor vehicle to stuff that's still in decent shape.

They are asking $10,900.

Yikes. Double pass at that price. That will buy a rust-free one down here.

I would pass, especially for $10K+ and I’m not one to be afraid of rust, but only if I’m buying a beater truck for my kid. As has been mentioned already, you are only seeing 5-10% of what’s there.

Geez....at that price I would also hard pass as stated above.

I'm not sure how the whole importing process works for stuff from down here in the USA, but it might be worth a trip to get a clean one for less money.
