Yeah I think the amount of rust on the surface is weird but I will check the car underneath to see what's going on. I checked Carfax and the car has been in the shop aside from maintenance a few times where it says:
  • Wind noise checked
  • Body water leak checked
  • Body electrical system checked
Wind noise checked and Body water leak checked was done after 3,700 miles already. I don't know if this is normal.
Below is the full Carfax History. What do you guys think? Does anything pop out and smell fishy?
Car was driven in the midwest (Indiana) and has had no accidents according to CarFax. Single Owner. Got sold via auction.

Wind noise and leak check could have been from a windshield replacement that wasn’t installed correctly or the rear hatch gasket not properly installed. Test drive it and see if you hear anything unusual. It should have been fixed by now after that many checks at service.

If it’s a GM Dealer see if they will certify it which will give you 175 point inspection and anything that needs to be replaced or repaired as part of the certification process(missing key fob, missing floor mat etc).It also extends your 3 year 36,000 mile warranty to 48 months and 48,000 miles plus extends your powertrain warranty to 100,000 miles plus free oil change. You can look at GM certified preowned on line for a full description. Good luck with your decision.

I got the work orders. I nowhere see anything related to the brakes but I see a rattling muffler was classified under wind noises / water leaks. I added screenshots. Obviously not really a leak but classified as such. They also had issues with rattling noise coming from the dash, a loose tailgate (which they fixed), issues with rattling noise when it comes to stop at 10-15mph and a seat belt sign that was caused by the retractor (repaired / changed).

I'm not sure... sounds like a lot was going on with this car. I don't wanna buy a lemon. Doesn't sound like one but it seems that it was quite some time in the shop...

The rotation of owners is of concern to me but that's just my thinking.
