oh no nothing crazy on the airspace requirements I just figured what the hell... The bass really deepened out with the addition of the polyfill it sounds amazing, but now I'm eying the box made for 12's and upgrading to obsidians and a 2800 watt american bass

Word.. hahaha i was like DAMN?! hahah i think 2 ported 12s or 3 sealed is the top end option.. we figured out how to do a single full size 15 but it requires cutting the vinyl on the 3rd row seat to pocket the box in to make room for the magnet.. but you gotta admit one big ass 15.. like the t2 or something packed behind the 3rd row would look sick

just do like 6 8s...
nice and small, full range, not a bad price
you could handle 1200watts easy

lol@ 6 8s.. i think this is where we run into airspace issues.. it would be like .65 cubes per sub sealed in a common box.. would be interesting.. but i think it would be starved for air unless you could squeeze 6 feet of air out of somewhere... call polyfill 10-15% means youd still need 5.5 feet AFTER the displacement of all 6 motors...

I have heard 4 JL 6.5 w3v3 subs ported to 30hz in the trunk of a 300c on 250w each though.. and it HAMMERED and was tiny as shit.. they only need .3sq ported.. so i mean if money wasnt a big deal ($80 each + 250w) you could do like 3 common boxes of 3 each.. each ported to 30hz and on at least 1500w rms.. that might be kinda neat to hear..

I agree you would probably need a bit more volume for 6 than may be available but its nowhere near 5.5cuft...
another option would be a folded horn loaded with a single 8 which is like 10in wide and would drop about 105db but im guessing that would be a little too wide for the space

I was saying a foot each would be optimal.. not necessary.. but youre right there are a ton of 8s that would be more than happy with .4 each...
So even at .5 including wood and subs its only 3 feet.. would be doable.. id LOVE to see that!!! Especially with like an RE8 or an Addictive Audio X8

A folded horn would be sick.. or a big ass transmission line.. maybe isobaric with 2 500w/rms 8s on it.. the issue with a ***** or transline though is the math is already retarded but then when you add in the box has to be a wedge and it makes it that much harder to get right.

Yeah I have a 15in loaded folded horn in my truck right now because I was moving out and I decided to hook it to my amp. I had it running probably about 50watts and it was slamming...
But that sure wouldn't fit behind a second row since its 30X36X36 haha

HAHAHA i bet... me and Chris (qf) got lost digging through exotic box builds one night.. stuff like folded horns, translines, iso's, passive radiators, and zero flex box designs.. if people ever find out that its 70% box and 30% sub.. alot of speaker companys are gonna have to go back to the drawing board

hahaha yeah...$250 folded horn running on a cheap 100watt amp can blow most multi-thousand dollar sub amp combos out of the water...oops...secret is out

In my 550i , i have 3 10s in a transmission line /4th order hybrid and its INSANE.. it slams to low 30hz/- stuff but will also make it impossible to see out of every mirror while listening to green day or metallica .. and i still have enough trunk space for luggage for 4..

I heard 2 12s in a full trunk setup on 2kw each and he MIGHT have me by a little.. on like some jeezey.. but on pure volume we are a dead heat.. and as soon as we get over 25hz mine is SO much nicer...

a 4th order is just a bandpass.. so a transline /4o hybrid is like a sealed box that doesnt fire into a box at all.. but into one long ass port

We actually mocked one up to do in a 3rd row.. would be fun to actually build it
