I'm in the market for new shocks as my current shocks are pretty shot. Currently I have KYB Gas-A-Just and I have a stock suspension set up. I want a shock setup that would be off-road friendly. I was considering KYB Monomax or Bilstein but was unsure which model.

What Bilstein series would be appropriate to go with in this case? FYI: it's a 96 Tahoe 2DR 4WD

whatever you want to put on your truck bro. they come stock with the blue and yellow bilsteins. i dont remeber what they are called... haha. i believe they are 5100 series. If you go to bilsteins website it will show you what they have. Its kinda like a good, better, best scenario i think with their shocks. the good in my opinion are still better than any other shocks!

I have had both the Rancho 5's and Bilstein HD's and I prefer the Bilsteins.

For a stock suspension that is going offroad, I would recommend the HD's, but you could select the Bilstein Comfort model (can't remember name) and the ride will be softer.

If I remember correctly, the Bilstein 5100's are only for lifted trucks.

I vote for Bilstiens HD, definitly leaning toward them once I replace my monroe reflex.
