side steps?

please excuse my noobness, but i'll be in the garage today lowering my tahoe and i'm just curious everyone's opinion on removing the side steps? is there anything under them or make anything visible that we would want unseen?

questions/comments/concerns/pictures....GO.

On the HD trucks the frame rails will be more exposed but I can't think of anything on the nnbs SUVs they hide without getting down on the ground.

I'm just seeing the thread now, but I think these trucks NEED the sidesteps, visually. The front and rear bumpers will be lower than the doors' sheet metal at the bottom edge [with the steps removed], and I think it looks bad.

Plus, if you're lowering your truck, the truck will look that much lower WITH the steps.

Bingo. All SUVs and vehicles look lower with a side step or skirt. I know the rover guys add them (they don't come as standard if you notice) for the lower look. Simple modding basics.

i left them on so far, and yes.. i'm not new to the low life i know the tricks of looking lower haha. i was just wondering if anyone had removed them and was pleased with the outcome.. but for now, running boards are stay.

This is the reason I soooooooooo wish I had factory power boards.

There when you need them, hidden when you don't. When they are tucked in.... they form a nice "skirt" look.
