I think quality can be poor from all manufacturers at times. My 84 Plymouth was always being fixed (good thing I learned to do most of it myself!), but in fairness that was my first car and I beat the living shit out of it until 243k. My 94 Dodge, everyone always complained about the brakes and tranny, I never had an issue. Original motor and tranny, driven every day for 8 years to 215k, and that was lifted with 33's. Only major issues were a couple of fuel pumps, a water pump and radiator. My 2004 Toyota was great until 100k then I started getting drive ability problems. Others that had the same problems were all related to the alum head and block and them warping and the head gaskets leaking. It may have been something simplier but I didn't want to spend the time and/or drop a few $k finding out so I traded it on the Tahoe.

It's all a crap shoot, IMHO.

Just for the record all the Escalades around here are generally business men/women or their spouses, white, black, hispanic, it doesn't matter. Other than maybe tint and wheels they are pretty stock. Lots of LTZ and SLT sisters as well. I can't remember the last tricked out one I saw being driven by someone other than your average type person.

Rt just knows that he will get pulled over by almost every cop if he drives an escalade. Seriously. YOu are more likly to get pulled over in a hummer or escalade than in a farrari doing 100. I wont start about hummers, but they are the second biggest.

But I dont give a shit. This year I hope to get a shelby gt500 and next year I hope to get a lincoln navigator, which shows class. ************, successful, proud, luxurious class.

LoL nothing is wrong with that, just think about it, if that is the most luxurious SUV on the American car market of course rich people are going to want it. Did you not see that it said 19% Blacks are buyers an the average income for those who do get it is $130,000. If you think your everyday drug dealers has that much your are crazy, only drug lords and bosses have that much money.
Same thing goes for how so many kids in Texas High school drive Dodge Rams and Ford Mustangs, they are just good bang for the buck for the average High schooler, doesn't mean your are gonna see me here saying "Mustangs are for stupid high teens do you?"
I bet you if a new luxurous SUV came out those stats would change pretty quickly.
As for Hummers, same thing, its the biggest, badest and most expensive SUV on the market, why would a rich person not pick it over a Nissan Armada?

Its not rocket science, just challenge the way you think sometimes and you'll be alot better of a person:Handshake:

back to topic. Really those are simple things that are fixed easily and nothing to worry about.

Couple things...

1) These simple things become annoying very quick, even more when the warranty is up.
2) Eskys are driven mostly here by very rich soccer mom's, limo companies, and execs
3) A mustang does not convey wealth, at all, ever. I'd like to have a Ferarri California one day. To convey wealth, I'd like to own a piece of 'car art' not a production ** hum.

I would like to know where in the world I said a mustang ment you were rich???? I just mentioned that I want one, and thankfully my life path has granted me the money to do that. I want the mustang cause I like the car, I dont care if its 50k or 500k, I just like the damn car, Same with the navigator. I used to be loyal, that got to be annoying. Now I buy from who ever has the coolest shit going on.

Also these trucks have 100k warrantys. I usually trade it before 100k. So nothing to worry about really.

HAHA wow this thread has completely gone off course!

Anyway RT does have a point about drug dealers (and no im not racist) but come here to MEMPHIS and you will see that the black folk (and again im not racist, just mere statistics) drive Eskys and live in north memphis where most of the crime and drug deals happen, but did see a black dude in a new M6 - did i think he was a drug dealer, no, he was well dressed and looked the part of a business owner. BUT i hate to say this but RT out here Navigators are the Mexican car of choice! I really have no interest in them but do like the Eskys, would i buy one probably not, merely cause ive grown up with my parents driving Lexus, and for the money i would drive the sh*t out of an LX, talk about a quility car! Most business people around here are in Lexus. when i can drop $80k im steppin in a LX, keep the hoe for some off road, and a nice little roadster for the weekend!

But LVyukyuk

I would be pissed too, i say give this new tranny a run, and if any more problems just trade it in. I havent had any problems with mine *knock on wood,* but i do plan on getting an extended factory warranty just in case cause you never know!

lol sorry this went so off topic. And I guess I didnt make my self clear, I if I lived in a different area, I would love one, I do like the interior of the navigator alot more, but the 6.2 liter engine takes the cake. Its just here an escalade or hummer equal Cop magnet.

Again I had the leaking tranny seal too, and honestly didnt know about it until I brought it in for an oil change, they called me and said it needed to be done, I said warranty right? yup. I was dropped off by a buddy, they gave me a loaner and I had it back the next morning.

I can see your point from a reliability stand point, as the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned was a Nissan Maxima. So much so that I have owned 4 different gens total since I was 17 but they dont have the features, look or feel that I want in my suv not to mention I am an LSx fanatic!lol.
