This discussion and the points made by you members got me thinking again about me rolling the dice with no spare tire. Particularly Swathdiver's comment, "You don't need it, until you do".

So, I purchased an insurance policy against getting stuck somewhere with no spare tire. I hope that it just sits in the truck and never gets used. If I do need it sometime in the future, I hope that it performs as advertised.

The only problem i see with the tire goo is your tpms sensors are covered in it too now... that cant be good for them and stay away from the guy at the tire place thats dismounting your tire..... he’s gonna hate you so make sure you tip him before he starts and has to clean all that crap up.
But in a pinch, you gotta do what ya gotta do.

Unless you have a blow out while driving. Not wishing bad luck, just something else to think about.

I have never had a blowout in 45 years of driving, and I don’t know a single person who has so I think the chances are pretty damn slim. In the rare chance it happens, AAA will be my fix.

Been driving since I'm 17, and ut's happened to me twice. Last time was about 4 yrs ago. So it's possible.
