My speedometer is acting a little crazy. The needle is not dropping to 0 when car is at idle. The needle drops to about 40MPH mark and as you accelerate the the additional speed is added to 40. Example you start truck and accelerate approximately 10mph and the speedometer shows 50mph.

My wife loves this truck, but over the years we have owned it it sure has had its share of odd malfunctions.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Jennifer thanks for your offer. I did some research on Google and it seems this is a fairly common issue with GMC/Chevy vehicles. The vehicle is a 2004 and out of warranty, so I guess I will have to remove the instrument cluster and get it repaired.
Based on posts from internet it is a tad pricey to get repaired at dealer so I am using an electronic shop that has the expertise to rework cluster at a fraction of dealer cost.

Thanks again.
