Anyone have a squeaking or whistle type noise when turning to the left? Doesn't really do it when turning right. I've checked the belts and they seem ok. Maybe one is a little loose, but it seems odd. Only does it when I'm making a left -- while moving. Doesn't do it when I'm just sitting there and turning the SW.

Any thoughts/guidance?

My thought is you first said the noise is when you turn right and then at the end of post you say happens when making a hard left. Does it do it when moving or only when you are stopped and turning? How far do you have to turn? To the steering stop? Less? My guidance is for you to post EXACT DETAILS.

Wasn't paying attention. I edited it above. Only when I turn left and when moving. Doesn't really do it when at a full stop.

Then it sounds like a belt or pulley bearing but could be the tensioner, also. Since it does not happen sitting still, which would be better since sitting still at idle and turning is hardest on that system, hard to pinpoint unless could hear it. Sorry can't be more help. I thought if it was when turned against steering stop then that could be it but does not sound like that.

well not sure about the BU's but my hiss when turning left (not the same sound as the noisd the steering colum makes when turned to max rotation) is definate not the hubs. it seems like its a high pressure hissing only when turning left.

BU is yours like this?

Sounds similar Viking. I've been listening to when it happens--seems like it's connected to the AC. More pronounced when it's on. Also, I think moisture in the air makes it louder too. Has to be a belt, but they all look fine. Tensioner?
