several auto makers deleted lockign columns over the years...for auto transmissions. standards still had them since there was no other lock in place... i know alot of the electronic locks (i.e. corvette) had tons of issues...our 05 doesnt have a lock i dont believe but my 06 5 speed silverado i had a few years ago did...
