Do you know the part numbers and is the dealer doing this?

Part # is 25966963

I have an 07 LT Tahoe but I'm sure it's the same for all 2007 and up.

Yes, the dealer did the work and it took about an hour and a half. I had a coupon for $25 off service, so I think real cost was $150. I will say that it did make a difference but the noise is still there a bit and I'm done trying. I do think it helped. The dealer said that if the clock spring is bad you will get a service airbag light. I did not have the light but still think the main noise was coming from the clock spring.

Mine ended up being the steering gear box!

My noise has now been gone for 3 weeks.

Luckily I got it resolved at 35900 miles.

Dealer searched around with stethoscope after replacing clock spring. (And as listed above, a different dealer replaced upper intermediate shaft and retainer clip)
