I did a brake job on my 07 Tahoe and noticed that the rotors on the drivers side had some rust on them and the passengers side were clean. It appears the pads aren't making much contact? From the naked eye, the wear on the pads didn't seem to be any different from the passenger side.

I have noticed it pulling or anything strange when braking other they it was time to replace.

Is this a master cylinder issue, it doesn't seem like both calipers could be stuck?

Thanks,
Tim

Are you talking about rust where the pads make contact? Is there rust on all 4 around the edges? Do you park next to water or did it rain a lot right before the job?

The rotors have rust where the pads make contact but only on the two on the drivers side, the two on the passenger side are clean.

You’re right that is a weird brake issue. It would seem if there’s no contact the truck would pull to the left. It sounds like air in the system on that side or as you mentioned stuck calipers. Old fluid can thin out and not perform well too did you happen to change it or bleed it? If you notice the same pattern with your new brakes start with bleeding

Hi, sounds crazy for sure..I'd say the easiest way to start to find the cure or fix..Is to change how You leave You Tahoe. You say its only the driver side showing rust..Then back the Tahoe into that same spot after a good day of driving, making the sure rust from the pas and rotors have been worn away. Then start backing into the parking spot..if the passenger side starts showing rust,,Well, there is something causing it...but what,? ..if its picking up moister from water on the drive, or maybe You neighbor is running a sprinkler and getting Your wheel wet in the evenings, ..This is how I would start to find out whats going on..Its normal for a rotor to show rust, after being wet, then sitting for a day or two.....even a dog going on Your wheel.,,but both that would be odd..
