ive been drooling over one of those since ive bought my tahoe. but for a little bit more i can build a nice 408 stroker motor and would chew up a supercharged tahoe..

in your opinion what do you think your supercharged 5.3 would do against a LQ9 408 stroker tahoe?

im trying to build the most bad a** tahoe around and am torn between supercharged 5.3 or a stroked LQ9 408

A supercharger clis what i would do. Gotta love the whine and some new advancements make it to where it keeps fuel economy until you smash the gas and take off. Dont know if they have em for the 5.3 but on the new camaros they have this. If you go stroker say bye bye to half ass gas economy lol. Im also torn but im gonna get a 383 built then add a supercharger and convert to dual carb on my hoe

I've ran a couple of trucks, one with a LQ9 (6.0) Radix, Silverado Super Sport TVS1900 and a couple of 6.0's with bolt ons and so far it's ran pretty good... Only one so far that has given me a hard time was a Jeep SRT8 they have a pretty wicked Launched. I would go with with a blower to be honest with you it would be much cheaper and more reliable, i mean building a 408 is a little well over 5K

Well since you broke your transmission already, get a built one and a looser stall converter.
When I had basically the same mods as you, I ran 15.6 in the 1/4. The trans and stall dropped it .7 to 14.9.

As for stroked vs blown, blower all the way. The stock 5.3's can make plenty of power when they are under pressure..

Ive got an 06 denali that I was lookiing to do a h/c/i setup with a wet kit and stay n/a with the bottle. After reading this a blower on my stock lq9 might be the way to go. I know the tsv2300 is outragous like 6k. For a little bit more then just the price of the blower I could buy a built trans, huge calipers in the front to stop my truck and a h/c/i setup I want.

Ive got time though, currently my truck just has a corsa sport, a few set of wheels and dropped 2/4. I still owe a decent amount and should have a warranty good for another year or so after those payments stop.

thats not a bad 1/4 mile time.. im new to the whole blower and super charger world. i currently race a 79 camaro with a 468ci running 9.39 @148 mph.

so id love to see the tahoe one day in the 10.50s one day hahahah

for now tho i plan on getting an RPM trans with 2800 stall and 4.30 gears and seeing what i can get out of it now.
