Did this mod awhile back, have had many compliments on it. Thought I would share with anybody interested. Diffenently ads a unique look, and is different from others. Now, I have a 2001 Hoe, and unlike other models didn't have the turn signal blinkers in my side mirrors. Well, I wanted them, but wanted it to look different, so this is what I ended up with.austinsphone103.jpg

Now, they are just aftermarket LED turn signal lights made for side mirrors I purchased at my local auto parts store. I actually have them wired into my running lights and turn signals, so at night they just light up the whole mirror, and when I turn on my signals they blink. I think they ended up pretty cool, diffently unique and different, and still LEGAL!! If you use any other colored light you will get into trouble by the law. TRUST ME!! I KNOW!! Cause I am huge into blue, but you can't have blue visible from the front or rear and then wanted white, but also illegal from the rear. But since red is ok visibly from the rear, had to go that route, but turned out very nice, so not complaining. Very easy mod if anyones interested. Just thought I would throw it out there. Kept it secret for awhile now, but good things must be known. lol. Hope you guys like.
austinsphone142.jpg Latest pic, just went up north to the snow today. I live in Phx, AZ so.... don't see snow much.

Alright, you guys are quick!! lol. Pretty much go buy the aftermarket LED mirror blinker lights, the already come in a V-or turn signal esc. pattern, so your not wasting time trying to make a turn signal using single LEDS. So, once you have these lights

ledlight.jpg which can be purchased at your local auto parts store, or online like Flebay, or wherever you want. I removed the whole mirror to make it easier to run wire and attach light, but you may not have to, I'm just a perfectionist. You are gonna put them inside your sidemirror housing and run the wire thru the hole into the door, you will need to remove the cover panel to accessaustinsphone185.jpg
Now I just used some heavy duty 3M double sided sticky tape, not actual tape but more like a bendable clear sticky stuff, don't know the name of it, but that way you can remove if needed later. I would suggest waiting to attach the light until you have your wires run and attached so you can see the light through the mirror for best placement. Now, I ran my wire to my front running lights/turn signal inside my corner lights. This way, they only come on with my lights, cause since your mirror doesn't have any of the backing removed for the lights as stock, aren't very visible during the day, and pointless. Plus, looks cool at night, in my opinion, all lit up.austinsphone184.jpgaustinsphone102.jpgaustinsphone104.jpg Now, you can wire into whatever, but personnally when lit during day, is pointless, so night time is best, and very bright as you can see. Hope you guys appreciate, cause when I took these pictures and pulling out the mirror I cut my finger!! Be carefull of that, the mirror is very sharp. I have aftermarket SS mirrors, so... Yours may be different, and glow differently. But my mirrors being white, the light just glows everywhere. Gives it that cool lit look, glowing look, but the actual LED turn signal is still visible. Hope this helps. Please ask any other questions you may have.
Heres another pic of some LED white light mods I did upfront. Now, none of my headlights/fog lights are even on, these are just running lights I have attached that come on all the time. Pretty cool look, just trying new stuff all the time, probably gonna turn my running lights upfront off, so that yellow doesn't shine upfront, and kinda throw the whole thing off.austinsphone107.jpg

theres no glare at night when looking in the mirror. All it's doing is producing a glow of light thats not going thru the mirror. It's bright, but not overwhelming, I have really dark tint and can barely see it with the window up, but when it's down it just glows!! Not at all distracting.
