Well you wire them for only turn signal, Why would you want your brake light appearing in your mirror?

Is there a way I could wire them to light up only for the turn signal and brake?

I had mine wired to my blinkers only. You can do both, but you're going to have to tap into the bake circuit as well, using diodes on one of the circuits. It can be done though. Yes.
