Tahoe side molding

Can you just replace the chrome strip on the side molding?

So it is not possible to just remove the chrome strip, and leave the molding itself?
I was thinking about that.

I replaced mine. I just pulled the old out and got some of the chrome strips from auto zone. Too bad I took the moldings back off.

How did it look with the chrome strip being shiny instead of that dull grey factory look??

To me not that big of a difference. I changed mine because of the bubbling in the factory one.
