If I have to say this one more time I am going to blow up.

Year, make, model, engine and trans? C'mon man!!!!!!! Sheeeeesh!!!!!

Is it a secret? Jesus H Freekin Chri$t!

LMAO! You popped in here to bite the guy's head off about not posting his specs, yet your answer didn't require you to know any his specs. You typed a page response, yet the only part relevant to his original question was, "IMO the noise you are hearing is the injection system. They can be noisy sometimes." While I'm not disagreeing, you have to admit that's a pretty generic response that could apply to ANY make, ANY model, made ANY year. Point being, you could have posted your reply without knowing the specs. The whiney, ****** replies weren't necessary. Anyway, what would a forum be without a trolling antagonist!

To the OP: For what it's worth, our 2015 LT ticks at idle also. I plan on asking my dealer about it the next time we're in for service, but I'm sure they will say it's completely normal.

Thanks for the reply. FWIW I understand his frustration...now. It drives me up a wall seeing posts titled "help with my '03 exhaust." Raideron and I have PM'ed and all is good. I've been on forums long enough to know a signature is required. Chevy went through such lengths to really quiet these new ones down but yet left that sewing machine sound. Makes no sense. The Airaid Jr. got rid of most of it with very little added intake noise.

I know this is an old thread but I didn't want to start a new one. I have a 2015 LT, 33k miles. It has a ticking noise when idle (and maybe when rolling).

I had a large Chevy dealer check it out this week while in for other service and they said it is the injectors and not to worry. While the ticking noise isn't "very" loud it is still obvious and not something you would want to hear from such a new and expensive truck. Put it this way...when people are around they notice it and I am tired of being asked if my new (used) truck is ok.

Question 1: Should I push to get this fixed before the 36k warranty is up or is this considered "acceptable" by Chevy? The dealer said it is ok so I got the impression they wont fix it by default, but I can certainly push on them.

Question 2: Would this be covered under the 100k powertrain warranty or just the 36/36 standard warranty?

What would you do? Thanks

I had the same complaint on my 2015 Yukon. Was incidentally given the same cop-out excuse that it was normal. I did however have the service advisor note on the records that "its normal" per his assessment.

I had the same issue. Turned out to be lifters. Take it in. I have the 6.2, but who knows.

Would you mind walking us through how they came to that diagnosis? On 2 occasions I have been told "its normal". I sincerely believe GMC thinks everything is NORMAL, especially when ABNORMAL :)

spoke with a GM customer rep. and he said that what i was experiencing was normal. I tried to ask him, if the idiots that designed, built, and signed off on the 5.3 engine also signed off on the ticking noise... yeah i was a bit sarcastic to him...
anyone else have any luck or leads??

have the dealer check for any bulletins or ask to compare it to another one on the lot. I am not sure if the 5.3l has the same problems that the 6.2l has.
