Well with the subs in the back of my tahoe, I've noticed a pretty good rattle from my rear barn doors. I've looked, but I dont see any adjustment on the strikers or latches to tighten the doors up. Any ideas guys?

The weatherstripping is good all the way around, but a little flat. I wouldnt mind replacing it if it were cheap enough. I cant find anywhere that sells a kit to do barn doors, only tailgate style. Anybody know where to pick up some good, cheap weatherstripping?

You sure its the doors and not some interior molding pieces in the back that might be a bit loose? Also if you have the cash, a good layer of dynamat does wonders.

Well I walked around, and when I pushed on the doors the rattling went away, and when they are open it doesnt rattle. The weatherstripping is a bit flat, and it doesnt sound completely solid when I close them, so pretty sure its the doors. I just couldnt find a way to tighten them up.

I'd love to dynamat the whole thing, but I just dont have the cash to spend on that right now. If I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it right.

Yeah I feel ya, no cash here for that kinda thing either! I dont know how you can tighten yours but if you can pick up some weather stripping somewhere that might help a bit. I know the stuff can be expensive though. I have used that weather stripping at walmart thats for your house and it has held up good. dont know if thats an option for you

here's where i got mine at, latemodel restoration supply.

full kit: http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/CTP-43720A-K

outer of barn doors: http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/CTP-43720A

between barn doors (pricey): http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/CTP-43720B

now the weatherstripping kit for around the barn doors is NOT a continuous one-piece, seamless piece like what is on your truck now. if you pull yours off, it's one long "hoop" of weatherstripping. (around the doors is what i'm talking about again.) the weatherstripping they sell for the back door from this website is just a long-a$$ piece of weatherstripping that you have to cut to fit yourself that will have a seam at the bottom, very much like the passenger doors of your truck. that being said, if you knew the size of the weatherstripping you needed, you might be able to just purchase a bulk amount of it from somewhere like j.c. whitney and diy. the pricey part is the piece between the 2 doors, which i changed also because i had a horrible a$$ water leak at my back doors. as far as the rattling goes, i put probably a total of eh, maybe 6 sheets total of raammat (like dynamat, just MUCH cheaper, plus rick is a hell of a nice guy) and a layer of ensolite. (sheet of raammat inside the door -- inside of outer skin, layer of adhesive backed ensolite inside the door, then replaced the vapor barrier with a layer of the raammat.) very solid sounding now, but i did my whole truck with sound deadening while i was chasing down water leaks and replacing carpet.

http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9647

anyhow, you may be able to contact rick and just get like 1 yard of the ensolite peel and stick, $18, and maybe purchase 5 or 6 sheets of the raammat bxt II, maybe another
$40-50. may seem steep, but makes a world of difference. and that's assuming that he'll ship you just a few sheets. i bought an a$$load of stuff and did my whole truck, headliner and all. but that's not the issue here. guess to wrap it up and stop rambling is that IF you knew what size weatherstripping to buy, a body man may be able to help you with that, you could purchase enough to do either your back doors, or all doors for not much money. now with fresh stripping around the barn doors, you may run the risk of the middle strip leaking, but you could probably get a piece of generic, flat, adhesive backed stripping and just put a layer over it. then again, it may not leak, just being devil's advocate. also, the back doors to sound deaden wouldn't run you an arm and a leg if you could get just the amount needed to do the job. sorry if i rambled too much there, just woke up and couldn't sleep anymore so i'm still kinda dee dee dee from sleeping. i'm done. branndon
