When I got my Denali XL, I had them tint the front windows before delivery. They did a good job; however, the front is just not dark enough. I took it by the tint shop to get quoted on redoing the windows to match the rear passenger windows.

While I was there, I inquired about a tint on the windshield. I don't want to change the darkness of the windshield really but would like to solve some of the heat I get with a black interior and hot southern summers. They suggested going with a 70% on the windshield so it wouldn't be noticeably tinted and wouldn't restrict my vision. The tint shop says it will still cut down the amount of heat dramatically.

Anyone have experience with tinted windshields and can provide input? Thanks!

I have had mine done either 35% or 50% on every car I have owned and highly recommend it.

I've had mine done with 50% in two vehicles over the past ten years and I love it.

You think I should go 50% instead of 70%? How much does that reduce visibility out of the car?

Also, if I went 50%, would that make the front passenger windows appear darker so I can avoid re tinting those windows?

Honestly I don't notice a difference in visibility from the inside just the outside.

I would but there's a few factors to consider
1. How strict are the police in your area?
2. What color interior do you have?
If you have a lighter color I'd do 50%

70% is nothing, do the 50%. It will make all the windows appear darker as there is not as much light coming in.

I've often times been tempted to do 50% on my windshield but it's against the law in Mo and I'm "afraid" that the cop may notice and just give him another reason to give me a ticket.

It's against the law in Iowa and never been asked about it.

my old silverado crew cab had 5% on the back 5 windows and 35% on the whole front windshield. It was rather dark at night but perfect during the day. Lived in 2 different state with that same truck and never once got bothered by the popo for it. But if I ever did get pulled over I always rolled down all the windows to help out lol. It did help out a ton with heat reduction being that the truck was a dark midnight blue with black interior.

Now that Ive been down that road, I plan to just match the front 2 at 20% and then tint the whole windshield with 35% both for looks and heat reduction.
