But, since I'm not a fan of chrome, plus there's a corner of the grill that the chrome is lifting, out comes the dip. I thought it was too much black, so I tried a red bow tie. I hated it! Stuck out too much for my liking, like Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. View attachment 79921 View attachment 79922
I rocked that for about 2 weeks until I finally blacked everything out. View attachment 79924
A little better, until I figure out something better.

CM the bowie would look awesome.

My gf had gotten a flat, and of course I was working. Some guys had tried to help her, and of course they had no idea what they were doing. They couldn't figure out the stupid system GM has to unhook the spare. So they cut the cable, ruining the spare tire carrier. I was able to get one from another Tahoe, but for some strange reason it didn't fit right. Once mounted there was side to side play, and the spare never felt tight under the body. Once mounted it stayed in place, so I was happy with it.

This was the problem with the tire not releasing from the cable setup.

I beat that metal tab back and it seemed to open much easier. This is the 16" spare, 265 70 16, which has the same circumference as the 17" 265 70 17 Denali rims and tires. So I was good. IMAG0276.jpg
Nice little bonus: The lock was still in the spare tire lowering tube/hole. It's keyed to the truck, so no additional keys. Everything is good to go now.

And the mods keep coming. I wanted to do something about this jump seat lid. The hinges we're broken and the lid would just flop off when it was flipped up. I hated it. I always wanted the center console, so I was on the hunt again. This time I had to drive 2 1/2 hrs to get a decent deal. But I scored the console, along with a few other needed/wanted parts. Including an Esky leather shifter. IMAG0297.jpg IMAG0298.jpg

It was a Bose console, so it came with the sub and amp. I hooked the sub up just for the hell of it. 1472343301285.jpg
The Bose sub had a decent enclosure for that low bass. IMAG0307.jpg

Everything went in really easy. I did have to remove both front seats to install the console. I also replaced the lower part of the dash for the center console factory dash. Little bit different. You can install the console without doing the lower half of the dash, but I wanted that factory look. IMAG0316.jpg

So much better.
Parts came from an 04, so the glove box piece didn't have the hole for the glove box light. Something on my to do list. IMAG0323.jpgIMAG0319.jpg
Another shot of the Esky shifter install. IMAG0317.jpg
I wanted to keep my original rpo sheet with the Hoe, so I drilled out the rivets in the lower part of the passenger side dash and installed my original glove box. Nice to have all the right info at your finger tips.

I highly recommend doing the catch can install. Catches all the oil that would go into your dry intake. Easy install. For me, all I did was cut the rubber hose going to my pcv and put the catch can in between it. Added some more hose, and done! Works like a charm. I used an existing bolt coming from the brake booster/ master cylinder, as I hate drilling holes if I don't have to. Added a new pcv, just because. IMAG0482.jpg IMAG0483.jpg IMAG0485.jpgCan doesn't hit or touch anything. Perfect spot for me.

So, the light thrown from my hids leaves a lot to be desired. Actually, it sux! I really can't see that great on dark roads. So I get some leds for the low beams. DAMN! What a difference. Much cleaner, whiter, brighter light. IMAG0706.jpg IMAG0708.jpgThey say 8000 LM's. Pretty bright, and nice white light. These have the flexible cooling braided fins, which is nice. Since I have all this beautiful crisp white lights, I can't go around with my old crusty stock lenses. So I hit Amazon and get the whole setup. Spec D. IMAG0761.jpg IMAG0755.jpg IMAG0756.jpgAnd I also grabbed some matching led fogs along with a new backup cam. Old one wasn't that great. IMAG0740.jpg IMAG0738.jpg
