I have a 2000 Tahoe z71 with the 5.7. Will any transmissions before that year work for a swap? 4l60 or it be any 4l60?

1998-2000 model years. I am assuming yours is a Vin R 5.7L Vortec Gen 1 engine and NOT a 5.7L Vortec 350 LS1 that has been installed. Your transmission is a 4L60E, not a 4L60. There is a huge difference.
