those units had issues with a part eating thru the case so there are rea case halves available and parts are plenty from gm. you can get them from gmpartsgiant.com or if you want to pay the money http://www.transfercases.com/transfer-case-models.htm will get you a remaned unit. if you dont send them you old one back tho they will charge you more. but you can get it back t normal.

To share a dream, but first I really want to thank you for all the help I am getting from you and I hope I can return as much or more to you

Secondly, my dream was to own this model since I saw it the first time long long time ago and it is really rear where I am (2dr model) therefore finding one now a days was chance for me to tap to that dream especially after losing my FJ 14 months ago (totaled) and lost connection with the offroad community, now I want to come back to this community but I dont want ti end up fixing every week and to hear that noise (it is old buy new) it is old but it is a pretty machine made from real heavy steel.

The dealers are killing the parts for this model so you will be firced to buy new (we have AC Delco parts only non of other OEM replacement parts)

So I want to restore it to a perfect condition but I dont want to pay more than I should

I talked to my mechanic and told him to finish the work on the seal of the rear shaft (he had to make a ring of steal) the plan to use the trans until it die

He told me that he couldn't unscrew the plugs (filling and drain) so it goes to the metal shop :banghead:

gmpartsgiant.com is a dealer run service. i am sure they can send the oem part overseas as well as long as there is no embargo on auto parts.

wait, I am sort of lost? I just replaced my transfer case on my 97 and I was told the transfer case gets the fuid from the transmission by the mechanic. Is this not true? Siaf, i'll sell you my two door.. lol I actually do have it listed on craigslist. lol still haven't fixed that short Sunlit.. fuse still blows even after replacing the 4x4 switch on the transfer.

no it does not. in fact if your tcase is getting overfilled mysteriously and your tranny fluid is going down then you have a damaged seal. there is a tsb on it. tell your mechanics i said he is a twit. and if you still blow fuses you have to have damaged wires somewhere.

i thought he was lying to me, especially since every transfer case I have come across has its own drain plug.

the clicking noise was solved (so far) it appears I did the inner axle service wrong the last time so yesterday I took the Tahoe to the axle shop and they found out that the outer axle is boot is damaged and the inner needed grease it was almost dry

so after this service I well try today and see if the clicking noise is gone or not

Thank you for the help

well it least it only took 11 months to solve.

It came back!

By the way i noticed something strange!

When i drive if I am accelerating the Tahoe leans or turn slightly to the right and when i release the gas it correct it self and there is no bulling to any side i checked the alignment it is fine and good.

I am going to change the oil to the rear axle and see..
