So my morning started off awesome. My truck died on me 4 times this morning on the way to work. I'll start by saying that yesterday I was going to clean the tb so I took it off upon inspection some of the gaskets were messed up so replaced all of them grabbed some electric connector cleaner and cleaned all the connections on top of the motor I moved the two ground connections that were on the thermostat housing to a bolt hole beside the housing I put one washer on bottom the two grounds and another washer and cleaned up the ground for the battery then sprayed some carb cleaner in the egr valve and noticed one of the evap canister hoses was disconnected put it back on
Put everything back on started it up ran good idled better a little better throttle response doesn't help my gas pedal is worn out. But that's not the point

I let her run for a couple mins make sure she doesn't die or leak gas everything was good so I picked all my tools up went inside for the night. Then this morning I go to leave for work she starts up fine drives good for about 6 miles or so I come up on a stop sign hit the brakes and almost come to a stop and she dies starts right back up I look down at the gauges and the temp gauge was a little over 220 but not in the red then the temp goes down to 190 or so drives down the road good until the next time I have to slow down then dies as I'm turning starts up again but I noticed on the third and forth time she died that it does it when the trans down shifts into first

I made it to work thank God but going home is gonna be an adventure

is it throwing any codes?

I take this is the 2 door Tahoe you were asking about , you just bought it.

Without knowing the vehicle history I would start by doing a full tune up.

I made it home with my truck haha after I got gas the truck did alright I still don't know why it was dying when hitting the brake I drive down a 2 lane road going home so I could coast to a stop sign an it did fine but I had to turn right and as soon as I push the brake pedal it died

If it is dying when you hit your brakes, it sounds like your vacuum booster is bad. Disconnect the vacuum hose going to the vacuum booster and plug it with a bolt. If you hit your brakes and it doesnt die, you may have found your culprit.

When you hit the brakes, do you hear a hissing sound in the floor board ?
