tune up

did a tune up last spring. time for one again as winter is slowly ending. i used acdelco plugs. is there any better? i used wires made by EXACT didn't hold up well , major performance loss over time. what are some good wires? any suggestions on a cap and rotor?

Yeah im interested in this aswell as im getting a tune up in a week. I'm thinking about going with E3 plugs but ive read mixed reviews about them.

me too??? x3.... I bought the delcos because alot of people seemed to insist that the 350 vortecs liked them the best by far. word of caution, don't trust the gap out of the box - I checked mine w/ 3 different gap tools and they were WAY undergapped from specs. the boxes weren't smashed or anything so who knows why!?

I believe many people recommend MSD stuff too, but I don't wanna pay $100 for a set of wires. Has anyone used the less expensive MSD set of wires and what's been your success???

I don't know about the other brands. I don't use them. I've had my truck for 150k miles and Delco plugs and wires are all I use. You can't go wrong with stock replacements.

+1 on the delco's. I've heard they work best on our trucks, and so far I have to agree..

OK, here it is, a dyno test of 12 different sets of spark plugs. The results of the testing is in the latest issue of Street Thunder. They pretty much covered them all from AC to Bosch and several grades of each.

Bottom line was,
the Autolite double platinum, came in the lowest, with 405.4 HP.

The winner was the NGK G-Power @ 416.7 HP

This was a very serious test on an engine dyno with the only difference being the plugs. They even rotated and went back to a set of plugs to verify the results of earlier tests.

The test is in the March/April issue. The NGK G-Power was also the cheapest plug of all they tested. Just goes to show, the price does not guarantee results.
