5.3 & 4.8's love boost because they don't have a very large bore space In stock form they can only handle a tiny amount of boost but if you open up your ring end gap so your rings don't butt together and cause a ringland to blow you'll be able to throw a significant more amount of boost to the engine. They say the rotating assembly in a 5.3 is only good for 600 horse or so but I've seen people run these motors almost completely stock way past that and the area at the bottom of the piston just below where the wrist pin inserts is usually what goes first. But honestly you could pull it off but I'd say eventually you're going to need to tear into the motor

Official GM Goodwrench tech here... The Yukon Denalis did not ever come with the 4L80 transmission... only the 4L65e as mentioned before. I worked at a GMC dealership for years and have rebuilt both many times.
Denali... 4L65.
Regular Yukon... 4L60
Yukon XL... 4L60 or SOMETIMES a 4L80 if you spent the money.

It can be done like somebody else said check trick turbo or kb racing for a turbo kit for a daily driver a single turbo should do the job getting 500 to the wheels easily. Getting somebody who knows what they are doing to install the kit. Biggest issue I feel is the tuning aspect of it. And it will nickel and dime the shit out of you though. Also like people have said before check out pt forum
