I am just wondering how many turns to "uncrank" to get 2-3 inches? I have no clue how to install lowering keys and have read that lots of people just uncrank the stock keys on the front, and new shackles on the rear.

I just want to be sure I am doing this right. I read someplace it is one turn brings you down a half inch. That being the case, then 4 turns would be 2 inch drop.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated...

Thanks!

You just loosen it until you have reached the desired amount. There isn't a defined value for the number of turns.

just received 3" lowering keys in the mail today (Thanks to redaddiction)

Did you install the keys yet? I'm looking to lower a 93 K1500 Blazer with keys and shackles.

What did bottoming out the front do to ride quality? I've heard maxing them out for lift can make for a real harsh ride, but haven't found any mentions of ride quality after lowering.

Ended up going a different way and cranked it back up, still on the fence with lowering/lifting. The ride was actually better decranked. I never installed the lowering keys but may eventually go that route.

But the fun is grabbin that *** to help her in....;)

Really I want the best of both worlds! I want a hella flush 2dr 2wd hoe and a lifted 2 door hoe. Finding a 2wd (for a decent price)has been like a needle in a haystack.

Lol....so lowering a 4x4 is wrong? I didn't think that when I dropped my talon Tsi....it was 4x4..basically you just make your Tahoe a functional awd sport suv....nothing wrong with it in my book
