used tranny. any up grades to do to make it last longer??????

A buddy of mine is putting in a used tranny in. It has 190.000km 118.000miles.
I know the trannys are weak and just want to prolong the life of it. He cant afford a reman. which is the answer.
So my question Is what are some small upgrades we can do. I am thinking corvette servo and #1 accumulator(since its plastic).beyond that I am not sure of any other small things. that are easy and cheep.

if hes putting it in himself then before he puts it in tear it down and go buy yer basic rebuild kid u can get one on amazon for less then 200 bucks
it comes with all new seals gaskets and all the clutch plates and friction plates

I took your advice on the sonnax parts. THANK YOU Autumnwind. I went with the corvette servo,sonnax shift corrector and a tranny cooler.should be done today. unfortunately that is all that was in the budget. so lets see how long the used tranny will last in the BEATER .

I am helping a buddy build this truck. He has little resorses. is there any good front end components that are reasonably priced worth buying? or just bite the bullet and buy the best and be done with it ? other than the tranny and front end the truck only needs tires before winter and a windshield, so over all a great buy. the last owner had spent $2500 the year before on the rear diff and other small stuff that added up.

A tranny shop is doing the work. we will be doing the R&R on the tranny but thats it. They havent called yet saying there was a problem with the tranny. I had asked them to do a inspection to make sure it was worth it.
