Visor hinge repair?

The hinge / roof mount on my visor is cracked. Otherwise visor is in great shape. I want to glue it back together. However cannot seem to relieve pressure from the spring on back of hinge.

Anybody taken these apart before?

Can you put it in a clamp or vice the way it is now? Might be a booger to try to rewind that spring?
