We shaved the bumpstops completly off in the front. So You think I should crank the keys back up, huh WHITEOUT? Maybe thats where im getting my juggling from over bumps. Its not metal to metal,or bottoming out. It is a feeling of a bad strut or something like that on a front wheel drive car. I'm gonna go wash and wax it and then get up under it.

Ahhhhh. Spindles and keys. Thats why you are alot lower than me in the front. I was wondering that. So you must be 2 wheel drive then huh? Also Alex, do you still have your spare tire on and your hitch? If you dont, that will play a BIG part on why you are not lower in the rear? NEVERMIND, I just checked your thread pic:emotions122:

IMO you need some kind of bumpstop up there. OR from what ive read from what some people do on here is cut the bracket/frame off on the control arm where the bumpstop goes to give more travel. BUT these suspensions are designed to rest on the bumpstop, so with it completely shaved off, it might not be resting on it now, which in turn could be culprit of the "bad strut" feeling you have over bumps. It could be hitting metal to metal giving that feel. Thats just my 2 cents, im no suspension expert or anything but i would get some kind of urethane bushing for it. When i dropped mine, i just shaved my bumpstop in half, and its still resting on it.

These front torsion bar suspensions are made to use the bump stop, correctly called JOUNCE stops. They designed front torsion bars to use those jounce stops in correlation with each other. It acts like a progressive rate spring, by using the jounce stop to start stiffening up suspension once travel goes that low. I did alot of research on it to figure out how it works, but dont know it all. just think I do haha JUST KIDDIN. n I've tried zero jounce stops before, alot of travel, pretty smooth, but alittle too bouncy for my taste, and jarring for me. Have heard others like it, but just not the way I care for my suspension to feel personally. so yes, I would tell you to put back in. . They are meant to rest on LCA when at riding position, and like Ghost, I have cut some off my Z71 stops also. I have tried about every combination possible, stocks, cut stocks, non, Z71, cut Z71 in all different heights of keys and cut lengths of actual jounce stops.

Gotta figure out what works for u, but would say crank keys up some. Personally think having them decranked gives no travel of suspension which isn't a good ride. I have a set of DJM drop a-arms,, just have never installed, so don't know what works best for them. I have heard they don't ride as well as spindles, but have no clue, so not talking sh$t about em or saying that's true. Like Alex33, have thought about installing with my spindles, but that's a crazy low drop IMO. Would like to try em, but not worth hassle unless I bag it!!

EXCELLENT write up,my man. You just schooled me and hooked me up on some good knowledge. I drove the truck up on these ramps I made,so I can see the suspension under load. The front a-arm and where the bumpstop used to be arm 3.5 inches away from each other. I had the kids push up and down on it, and it was not even getting close to contact. I still want something in there though(like you said). Also I see another issue comin...The back is really settling in nice and looks like that rear my be lower than the front pretty soon:wtf2:.... A guy cant catch a break.....Im NOT giving up though.....This truck WILL NOT get the best of me!

You could try some z71 tahoe bumpstops up front, they are quite a bit taller than the stock stops.

Hey WHITEOUT... If I wanted to go a tad bit lower in the front, Would you do keys or spindles? I plan on doing 24's in a couple of months. I should probaly just leave it where it is huh?

don't do spindles with drop arms!! it's going to get you WAY too low, IMO. have heard people have done it, have never seen it on a Tahoe, but would imagine it would drop you more then u may want. And you would not be able to adjust it up at all. Not saying it can't be done, but I know if I installed my DJM drop arms with my McGuaghy spindles, I would be sitting crazy low in front with no room for adjustment. And be raked out like crazy, would have to cut springs or bag to get rear that low. But would love to see it done if you want to do it and tell/show me how it looks n rides? haha

I would say get some drop keys. That way it will get you lower and you can still adjust it from there to get at height you want. Also like said and Max said, get some Z71 front bump stops. They are higher, can try n find a pic I took of comparing to stocks for ya, and should have part # I can get for ya also. Poly bump stops might not be a good idea. Strictly saying just cause they don't deflect very well, and you are using the front bump stops for a progressive rate on springs. The Z71 are taller tho. I will try and find a article I read where someone wrote a great writeup regarding GM torsion bar 101, and how they work.

that's good to know tho!! I think I may get those coils now. As much as I want to bag it, it's my DD, and just not sure I want to deal with the hassle of bags, and worrying about the what ifs, and possibles happening, especially having my wife and 3 yr old in rig. Might just stay static and get those 4230 coils. Hmmmmm?? decisions, decisions.

Cool it's riding better tho man. Ya, get some drop keys to go with your arms, think u can get it to level out. From your measurements, were about same drop all around, now ur lower then me in rear tho. damn it, know I need to start a post sayin, "well it's lowered.....need to be lower tho" haha. But I do have my keys cranked up all the way, so can get it at least another inch lower in front if needed. I do have drop keys with my spindles installed. Idk, would like to know if someone has used drop arms and spindles with static drop.

I do right here along with a body drop...The only thing is it seems like mine sits higher (considering what I have done) than what everybody else says theirs sit at and I don't know why. My drivers side key is cranked all of the way up and my passengers is all of the way down to help level the front (although my passenger side is still higher).
