I don't want to be "that poster", but you obviously know how to work on a vehicle judging by some of the things you've done to your vehicles.

Why wouldn't you check all your fuses for lights first, and then post on here if it still didnt work? Seems like it could have been solved on your own if you knew the simpler things like checking fuses rather than have a 4 page post on it. Not trying to be a dick, just seems like common sense.

lulz thanks ... I try. :)

Fact is, although many tried to help me, and despite all the posts on this thread and because of the odd nature and location of this fuse, I had to contact a GM tech in order to track it down.

So perhaps it wasn't as easy as it may seem in hindsight.

And not for nothing ... but any time someone begins a statement with "I'm not a ____ but ..." or "I don't mean to be a ___ but ..." that's usually exactly what they are and/or mean to be.

Sheesh. :whymewhyme:

If they had fuses for every single little thing in your truck then your fuse box would be twice the size and more of a headache. Also sometimes its best to try a new fuse regardless if it looks bad or not sometimes you cant tell. Glad you got it fixed.

We all post our problems regardless of what the "fix" is to get the input of others on this forum who own similar vehicles and might have gone through this issue before. After all, that is what a forum is for, isn't it?

Tru dat ... but don't you find it odd that one fuse would control one of four bulbs in one tailight and two license plate bulbs and be under the hood, and another fuse which controls the other three bulbs of the same tailight would be on the side of the dash. I mean it might be common, but certainly not intuitive. :)

I mean, at our house we certainly don't have an individual fuse for every plug or circuit, but they are certainly grouped with some logic.
