You guys are fighting over license plate led bulbs?

Those things are like five bucks. :whymewhyme:

Anyone know if this is plausible and what it means:

The license lamps are tied in with the same circuit as the left tail lamp.
It is possible that the connection where these are joined is corroded or broken.
This connection will be under the truck near the rear of your Yukon.

If the fuse is good, it will be a search for the open circuit.

Okay so it seems I might have identified the wrong fuse ... according to a GM tech I've been communicating with:

It is in the under hood fuse box, fuse 26. A 15 amp fuse.

I can use a blue spare fuse from the side of the dash that says '15' right?

yea just make sure the amp is correct

The number on top of the fuse designates the amp?

Thanks Matt,

In a pinch, the GM techs over at justanswer.com can be rather useful. :)

Btw, what a strange way to set up a fuse no?

You'd think fuses would control specific segment of the vehicle ... like one for just tails, one for just 3rd and lp lights. Seems odd that the same fuse controls just one part of one tail and two lp bulbs. GM weirdness.

Glad you got it figured out. Do you own a voltmeter? They come in real handy in times like this.

No I do not ... the GM tech asked me the same thing.
I guess I'll buy one this weekend when I get some m0ar fuses.

I'm still curious as to why a little led bulb blew the fuse tho.

I don't know if it was the led light, but it should be noted that electrical current doesn't flow like water, i.e, it isn't at a constant rate. Electricity is constantly fluctuating, hence the fuses. The fuses are designed to blow as a safety measure to ensure an electrical surge doesn't damage anything else.
