Well. She was almost perfect.

I still remember an accident i stumbled onto a minute or two after it happened.
Some drunk in a pickup rear ended a lady in one of those Isuzu troopers.
it crumpled like a piece of tin foil.

I think she was ok, but she was trapped inside of it.
Panicking, and pounding on the door/glass to get out.

That was probably 10+ years ago...
Still to this day, i carry a pocket knife with a little glass breaker spike on the end of it.

My wife wanted one of those little suvs... i was like fk no.

Make sure to have a talk with your insurance company that only OEM parts are used and well documented. You don’t need any of that Dorman crap installed on your vehicle or you may be dealing with other unrelated issues down the road.
Glad to hear the other driver got some new jewelry to wear. The main thing is that there no fatalities. Cars are replaceable, loved ones aren’t

Hopefully they won't try to total it on you. Are you feeling ok? Maybe you should've got medically checked out--just to be sure.
Yeah, my neck is a little sore still, I may get checked out for sure this morning... Not sleeping well again, so deff off my normal. Ill say this, when he took off, the old gal sprung to life and I think she was as determined as I was to catch his ass. haha.

Yeah, I have to deal with their adjuster, and that will be a fight all its own. Going to call my insurance this morning to make sure they know what's up and if we have to fight we will fight.

Well I have to say, the people stopped at the stoplight that we were approaching got lucky, he would have gotten one of those cars full 60 mph hit for sure if he didn't hit me first.

Sorry to hear this. I had a guy run a stop sign in front of me and I T-***** him at 50mph. I had my foot on the brake so hard that it took all of the shock when we collided. I thought it was broken but it turned out my foot was just very bruised and swollen.

Any way I always say that if you are going to be in an accident it better be in a Suburban. The bad part is that it was in my daughters custom Sub and I felt really bad totaling it out.

The insurance was a nightmare, it always is, so I wish you luck on that.

So here is an update, crawled under there when the rain stopped yesterday to shoot photos for insurance claim. backside of the right axle backing plate it wet.... oil wet... i noticed she was driving what felt like a little off in the rear... may have bent the axle. Exhaust moves from in front of muffler to the back very free, track bar bent, drivers door squeaks now. So not looking good..... we shall see...

1/8" difference from one side wheel base to the other...

If you decide to keep this thing and it's not totaled out make sure you ask them for diminished value compensation which is allowed in most States. Since I've work for maggot insurance companies in the past and dealerships, in my opinion the vehicle takes a hard hit like this and D insurance company says it's repairable you might want to either get it repaired then sell it. Or just trade it in to the dealer and let them deal with repairs and get a new one. You never know what kind of problems are going to crop up later on. If you keep it and do decide to sell it down the road most of the time all the details of that accident are going to show up on Carfax and it might make it's a little difficult to sell

20201020_110719.jpg 20201020_110711.jpg Again sorry for your loss. I've been rear-ended so many times is not even funny. Like you say dealing with insurance companies I want to put on aftermarket bumper covers Gypsy parts is a pain. So on my 2019 Yukon Denali and my 2011 Suburban Suburban I purchased and installed what the manufacturer calls superbumper. Just Google superbumper. Com. A device that plugs into the trailer hitch receiver and therefore large rubber insulators. It mitigates the damages. And on low-end impacts you'll see virtually no damage. It's been about five years and I have not been rear-ended but if it ever does happen I'm really not concerned about damage. Knock on wood. That large Chrome device looks a little menacing and maybe that's what keeps people off my tail. Stay safe

Dimished value is a must, for sure.

So I was wondering how the rear end took a hit, figured it out after photo review and tire size review, 26" tall tire will skid right under the quarter and damage on his shows a decrease in damage about the spot where tire on tire contact was made, so now things make sense to me.

Insurance company did a "virtual" estimate, 1900 bucks, I emailed back saying what his estimate didnt address.

So Im having it towed to a shop, going to pay for them to tear it down and get real $ on things. At this point, trans is screwy, rear end bent, I don't know if I want to actually keep her now even if fixed right. My experience has always been, vehicle is never the same after stuff like this. I am **** when it comes to how one drives.
