HA! $1.9k? The insurance companies are hurting too apparently. I’d have it repaired, collect diminished value as CarFax is going to hang you out to dry on the value. Sell it after a full blown pro Resto detail is completed.

It needs a new hood, fender, both bumpers and the hit to the rear 1/4 must be repaired correctly or they’ll try to slap it with filler to get you on your way. By the time it’s repaired it will look stunning with the entire truck is cut, buffed and the interior taken to Sano level clean.

New black paint on both bumpers, the hood and replacing both headlights will bring top dollar. That’s where the eye falls on black trucks. The smell of Pro grade interior detail products sets a hook for buyers. Hate to say it but sell it when the market is high and buy up in into a nicer replacement. You know how to sniff out a deal, unfortunately it’s just not a convenient time to deal with it.

With your intuition of tracking issues, possible harness damage and interior bits needing attention I believe you’re aware enough to not be taken advantage of and be made whole, but more likely, better that before.

I think Kevin’s rig only took a hit in the rear passenger side corner. The picture showing front damage was of vehicle of the a-hole that hit him.

So I was wondering how the rear end took a hit, figured it out after photo review and tire size review, 26" tall tire will skid right under the quarter and damage on his shows a decrease in damage about the spot where tire on tire contact was made, so now things make sense to me.

Insurance company did a "virtual" estimate, 1900 bucks, I emailed back saying what his estimate didnt address.

So Im having it towed to a shop, going to pay for them to tear it down and get real $ on things. At this point, trans is screwy, rear end bent, I don't know if I want to actually keep her now even if fixed right. My experience has always been, vehicle is never the same after stuff like this. I am **** when it comes to how one drives.

1900 bucks is a joke, you need to request replacement of the quarter panel and the use of oem parts. Don't settle for less.

I agree, $1,900 is very low. It cost me $1600 just to replace the front plastic cowl on my 2007 Denali back in 2010. I was expecting you to come back and say they offered you $3000, which would have been low for doing the job correctly and with OEM parts.

Unfortunately I have seen some of these low-cost policies explicitly state that they have the right to replace with after-market parts and if you want OEM parts, you have to pay the difference. I have had very good luck with State Farm and my local body shop when it comes to this type of thing.

i would definitely be talking with your own insurance guy and see what your options are. Dealing with the other guys insurance is going to do nothing but drive you crazy.

Gotcha, two pics showing both vehicles. Thanks for clarifying. I always go through my insurance even when it’s the other parties fault. That’s why you pay your insurance company.

You can’t hide the accident from your insurance if you go through other parties policy, the information is shared on a network accessible to all insurance agencies. AAA hammered Geico for me the last time I was rear ended in our VW. AAA had it fixed according to the limits of the other party’s policy as well as providing a rental car on their dime, no $ out of pocket. No, it did not affect my rates and they were the arbitrator who saw everything was handled correctly.

Floater wouldn’t be bad. 4.10 would be nice also.
