Yeah it was just the G80 locking up in 1st gear when I spun the tires and destroyed the spider gears. Now that I see how it works, it's really amazing it lasted even this long.Way to go- better done right than done quickly. Did you ever identify what parts broke?
I'd def go with the thickest cables you can find. My Tahoe doesn't like thin jumper cables either.Success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No noise, no binding just silky smooth. Took me almost as long as my engine swap, but I am glad I took my time and learned to do it correctly. If I had to do it again, I could get it done in a few hours.
Can anyone recommend jumper cables? The 8 gauge ones from walmart didn't work. They have thicker ones, would that be worth it?

I'd replace bearings and seals since you've gone this far. Might as well.
