What can you do with the hitch if you do a body lift?

I have a 97 yukon 4 door 4x4 and i want to do a body lift. The thing that is stopping me right now is the hitch. If i lift the body up 3" there is going to be a big gap between the bumper and hitch.. Is there anything that can be done to raise it and even it out?

You could take off the hitch or get a local welder to make you one that fits better

Ive seen this ^^ done Before , Only thing is Make sure you have a Professional do this IMO, Because of safety issues If you plan on towing with it the welds need to be spot on and strong.

I would like to keep the hitch, I dont use it alot but i do use it sometimes. There isnt some way to modify it or move it up somehow? Im not really too familiar with how it looks as i havent really checked it out. Just thought i would check and see if there was something people have done to move it up or anything.

You can't move it up.

your hitch looks something like this.

A welder could separate the end plates and weld the crossmember up higher.

Damn.. Well unless i figure out a way to move it up, Im not going to be putting a body lift on it, as that would look stupid IMO.. Ill take a look at it n see if it looks do-able, I could bring it into a shop n have it welded up by a professional..

It doesnt look that bad. I thought the same way as you did, but its not really noticeable. I powdercoated my hitch to try and make it look cleaner as well. Plus it will hide your spare tire a little bit.

Do you have any pictures of it? And is it on a 2 or 4 door? Cuz i notice your sig says 2 door. The only two door tahoe ive seen had the spare in back, not under the truck like my 4 door.
