What could it be?

Today my 2015 Tahoe started shaking like nobodies business at idle and the exhaust note got significantly louder. A lot more “rumble” to it. Any idea what this could be? No check engine light yet but my gut tells me it’s about to come on any minute. I do have a magnaflow muffler as well as a range afm disabler. I took the range out and nothing changed so I figured that wasn’t causing any issues.

How many miles? Have you ever checked/ changed plugs & wires? Was your AC on? Do you have a scan tool?

96,*** miles. A/C was on, I gassed it around slower moving traffic and after that it started acting up. Have not checked plugs or wires and do not have a scan tool.

Try it with the HVAC system totally off.

Check engine light reveals P0300 ( engine misfire detected) p050d-00 (cold start rough idle).

Shop said a tune up “should” fix it. This tune up is $650 so I don’t feel very comfortable paying that only for it to not be fixed. Anyone have any input?

I’m gonna take it to another shop and get a second opinion.

300 is random misfires. Start with plugs and wires.

Random but which cylinders? A scan tool can show this. Get the approved module for the torque pro app off Amazon and know exactly what's wrong before letting someone at it. $650 for plugs and wires? That used to be a whole new motor!

So the mechanic I have looking at the Tahoe currently has replaced all the spark plugs and the problem continued. He says that he thinks one of the injectors stays open. I’m thinking about taking it to the dealer considering I’m still under powertrain warranty. Any thoughts/insight would be appreciated.

a powertrain warranty should cover the intake gasket if that is determined to be the issue, it might not cover injectors, depends on the warranty statement there are different levels of "powertrain warranty" I would start with them doing a diagnostic first and see what they determine.

if you have a aftermarket intake on there take it off before you take it to the dealer that will be the first thing they blame it on, if you do have the k&n with oiled filter it could be the issue anyway, the oil messes with the maf sensor.
