So got a reprieve on my report back to Louisiana due to Hurricane Sally. Thus, I was able to get the Escalade cleaned up by the detail shop one more time during my stay this time around. Managed to get it home and in the garage before the afternoon showers.

Opened these... Now I'm searching for an aftermarket skid for the transfer case or possibly a CAD file for a homemade one.02883648f45415a427fdb1bcdad7bfc8.jpgd1d7e80e5731cf6cf4d690e8e2d537e8.jpg

transfer case will utilize the same one used on the Colorado & Z71 packaged k2xx & nnbs vehicles
even though it is not marketed for the bigger suv's it fits and works the same, I have the same one on my 2012 and my 2018

I thought about yanking the one off my Colorado, but I was hoping to find a heavier aftermarket one. Still shocked that no one makes a full skid plate system for the Tahoe? I really thought the aftermarket support would be much greater... I suppose to many of them are used like mini vans :(

I have the same one on my 2018. I wonder if there’s a sturdier aftermarket option as well as the fuel tank skid plate.

I haven't seen or heard of any other than the ones the border patrol vehicles get but those are made on government contract as far as I have been able to tell so I think the only solution would be a custom fabrication.

It shouldn't be too complicated. Here's an example installed on 4Runner / GX460:

My hope is that more people will buy these trucks second hand and build them as overlanders.
