Put on a set of 18” Trail Boss replicas wrapped in Blizzaks and installed a set of GM roof bars. My Tahoe HC is now ready for ski season.

First oil change ( well, had the dealer) at 1100 miles. Wanted to do it earlier at 500 to 750 miles but was so busy and then appointments were a week out. Using a GMC dealer real close to me where I bought three previous trucks.

Aw crud, when is the first oil change supposed to take place? I'm at 1500 miles now....

Also, added an S&B CAI to try and get into the 20s for average MPG.

First oil change is supposed to occur about 7k or 8k miles. But some guys like to do it early, just because.

Actually did do a bit of research on the subject and it seems engine builders recommend early oil changes because of concerns with shavings and such from machining. Claim modern day machining, QC, and synthetic oil make it unnecessary. I chose to believe that but certainly not throwing stones at those doing it sooner, if it adds piece of mind certainly can’t hurt.
