Long post...

Oil change with Mobil 1 high mileage synthetic and Mobil 1 filter. Tire rotation. Emptied the catch can. Gross. So glad this is not in my intake.

Then a little plasti dip...
Okay, boys. Which one for the center caps? Or should there be white somewhere? I know they're not perfect, I was just testing my method.

Keep in mind my front end is this way (pardon the dirt, been raining like hell)...

Color matched this bowtie for the hitch.

Gonna put red and/or black dip, but not sure of the scheme yet. Ideas or suggestions, please.

Thanks for your thoughts here, guys.
I think all of them white would be cool. But if your going red & black id do the red with black outline for all.

Well actually they're so my lifters don't fall into the block when I swap my cam but I figure I'll need to start looking for gold after I'm done with my truck in order to replenish my cash reserves so yeah divining rods. Multipurpose tools. :word:

J/K.. I read your build thread before I posted that, lol.

Yea I made a mess when I did mine too. No way to do it clean unless you had one of those large transmission drain pans. I didn't touch my old filter seal either; my new filter popped in place and was snug so I didn't see the point.

If you don't want to get a $10 HF 1/4" drive torque wrench, do it by feel with a shorter ratchet. Can't get any feel when using a long one. I did 13 ft-lbs for my gasket. From my experience at a shop, 13 ft-lbs is tightening with the head of the ratchet until it stops, and then giving it a tug on the handle after.
I couldn't make it to the store in time so when I went to reinstall the newly gasketed pan, I used a 1/4 drive ratchet... carefully. Same thing happened: the gasket was protruding from the back, passenger side with sharpest corner so I loosened the bolts & started over. Same $hit but less dramatic so I rolled with it. About 3-quarts in I got a small drip @ front of pan so I hit them all 1- more time and stemmed the leak. Started engine & ratchet thru all selections a couple times after adding quart #4. Checked level 20-mins later; low on stick. Added 5th qrt as some random dude lingering around began asking me for $$$ so I killed it & went inside before he came back with a gang to beat & rob me. Will have to drive & recheck fill tomorrow. Hopefully get the power steering flushed too.

Thanks for your thoughts here, guys.

I think you should match your front bow tie with the caps, personally
