after painting both bumpers on the regal, im ready to do body panels now, no fear of paint work any more at all.

small parts were always easy, hang em on a wire and paint and walk away. but a bumper was a can per coat, few sq feet lol

i sure did!!!!! that other pic was just cleared and put back on, its way easier to wet sand with it on the car. i had to wait for winter to end, got it painted on the last warm day of fall, then i had no will to be outside wet sanding in freezing temps. so spring hit and i finished it off.

Attempted to get my spare tire down and failed. Truck came with no tools, 3/8 extension is too small, 1/2 won’t fit down the tube. Can’t for the life of me remember how I did it in the past. Dad has tools in his silvy, I’ll borrow them tomorrow.
Gonna put my rear sway bar endlinks on that I got from Tony and maybe to my retrofit in my Denali lights

i was pretty amazed myself.

all duplicolor less then a 100 bucks in paint and supply's, i even primed it due to all the filler, and sand paper and bumper epoxy. i did 3 coats of paint, then 5 coats of clear. knowing id be sanding off 2 coats.

it came out so good i did the front bumper as well. that had a large crack i on the bottom i had to repair.

then some dick backed into it while it was parked over night.

drilled a hole at the end of the crack then used the same filler kit as before but i used the mesh reinforcement on the back side. ran out of filler at the very end there, used to much with the mesh i guess. but its on the bottom, cant see it.

hit and run fun

bent the hood back with two adjustable wrenches and a rag. what horrid sounds it made bending back.

those headlights are weeks old at the time, just missed it.

also cracked my IC res tank that lives in that corner.

my CSI show watching skills tells me it was a pick up truck rear bumper. its the only thing high enough, after he hit me, when he drove off the under side of the trucks bumper caught my bumper and ripped it.

If it was mine, I'd return the favor with a baseball bat. That's just me tho. Just sayin.....Good thing for him you never found out who did it I bet.

nope never found out who it was, theres a few trucks in my lot, but none have the right looking bumper or any damage. think it was a guest.

bat sounds like a good idea. glad i didnt find em lol

after a few weeks i was over it, now that i got the tahoe im really over it lol

i started work again so im switching em up every other day now.

day one was pretty funny, went to pull out on to the hwy and just lit the tires up. funny how i forgot how to drive it. it will only take maybe 1/2 throttle from a dead stop, any more and they be smoking up.

think ill be tuning on it tomorrow, island dragway should be open finally, need to get back out there soon. little timing and meth tweaks and see if it goes faster. the game continues.

found these guys on line, still about 20 a can, but its a larger OZ can then most others for the same price. https://repaintsupply.com/

also got their prep spray and 2k clear. its two part clear. didnt know this till i had it in hand. once again its a good thing i read directions. you shake for 2 minutes then flip it over and theres a pin on the bottom of the can with a cap they give you. push the pin in and it releases the second part inside the can. i was about to give the test a coat of clear, then i read all that jaz, was ok, that will have to wait lol

If it's SprayMaxx let the base coat dry for a couple days and put a tone of coats. I wpuld even do 1 can per flare. Sounds excessive but when I painted my motorcycle with that stuff it ended up flaking off. I talked to a couple body guys a out it and they said the base coat must have off gassed and I didn't spray it on thick enough

looks to be their own brand of paint. comes with two spray tips too. different spray angles i think.
