I got the ABS module off, and hurt my back in the process. I'm really gonna be in pain tomorrow. :(
But I have to rebuild it because I keep getting an ABS warning light on the dash almost every time I drive the truck, and the code says it's a fault in the EBCM. So instead of replacing this thing at a cost of over $500 for a new one or $250ish for a "rebuilt" one, I will rebuild it myself. I already did it on my son's 99 Silverado, his was throwing the same exact fault code and I successfully rebuilt his about a month ago and no fault codes have popped up yet! I learned a trick from one of my customers about dents--stick a deflated volleyball or basketball behind the dent--if it's in a door or quarter panel--and then inflate it slowly with an air pump. It'll pop out most of that dent. It really works. Once I did it for a door dent, and the ball actually bent the crash bar! I couldn't believe it. Give it a shot. Should work with the driver side quarter panel.
Toilet plunger is my weapon of choice, but the ball trick sound kinda genius
