They'll come with cheapy Chinese halogen bulbs. Might still be same bulb 9006 , @Fosscore will know. And 6000k will have a tiny hint of blue. 5000k will be purest white. Try not to use led bulbs in projectors, always hids. I know from personal experience

@brian.roberts.1293 - I 2nd this, stick with HIDs in projectors you will be much happier with the output.


Nice work, I’ve got a can of that on the shelf for just that purpose and I think I found my motivation to do it sooner than later. Those look oh so fresh and clean.

Yes, it seems to be pretty common problem on the NBS trucks. From what I've been reading, it's simply bad solder joints over 95% of the time. I watched a few YouTube videos and read a write up on another site, so I figured I'd try this before shelling out $$$ for a new or rebuilt module. I just did this on my son's 99 Silverado about a month ago and his ABS light has not come back on since. I should have recorded the actual code, but it's basically a "circuit fault in the EBCM" and we were both getting the same code.

Finally got time to finish rebuilding my ABS module. I re-soldered all the solder joints and put new heat transfer paste, then scrape all the old silicone glue off and then glued it back together with red RTV silicone. if the module is broken the abs kicks in at slow speeds. if you just got a abs light it could be a bad speed sensor. or damaged wire to it.

why a scan is always best. keeps ya from chasing your tail.

Drove the old 'hoe like an ambulance after my daughter decided to jump from the chair to her doll crib.... no idea what she thought she was going to do had she succeeded in jumping from the chair, mind you - but the chair slid and she split her chin open on the side of the crib... thing bled like a sieve and you could see fatty tissue. She split it damn good. My wife learned about roads she didn't know existed.

4 stitches and a grape popsicle later, and she was ready to jump again

Exactly. I scanned my truck and the ABS code that I pulled said "Electronic Brake Control Module circuit fault". That means that either there's a faulty EBCM, or a fault in the wiring. But I have read that most of the time it is a bad module and the only reason the module is bad is because of failed/broken solder joints. Now on my son's Silverado, he had the EBCM fault, but he also had two codes for the driver's side and pass side front wheel speed sensors. Both his hubs were bad, so that's sorta makes sense. After replacing his wheel hubs, I re-soldered all the solder joints in his EBCM and his ABS light has been off ever since. So now I just did mine since I was getting that code as well.
Back Story: I have actually been getting this same ABS code for almost three years now. The light would come one maybe twice a year, so I didn't worry about it. But last few months it's been coming on more and more often so I decided to actually fix it.

I think I might have this issue. Every once in awhile--more frequently now--stepping on the brakes, the pedal goes a little lower then usual and it'll kind of feel like when your abs kicks in. Like that pulsing or vibration in the pedal. Still doesn't do it alot, and I don't have an abs light on, but I feel it becoming an issue.

If it is the same issue I have, then you will DEFINITELY get an ABS light on. It will at least stay on until you shut off the truck. That's what mine was doing. ABS light would come on randomly while I was driving, then it would not come on again for another 6 to 8 months. I scanned it with my Innova code reader and it told me the code, which I searched on Google and found out the exact description. But I didn't even worry about everything since it rarely ever threw a code......up until recently. Only reason l decided to fix it is because it got to the point where it was throwing a code to make the ABS light come on pretty much 3-4 days a week. @Tonyrodz I would use your new Innova code scanner and see if there are any stored ABS codes. If there's an issue, it will have a code stored in the memory even if the light is off.
