Thanks for both of these points.. I was thinking of pulling the airbag, but wasn’t sure. I’ll give that a shot. [emoji106][emoji16]

No problem should make it much easier that’s how I did mine

Water pump I guess? Can't find anything anywhere else, it's loosing about 1/2 gallon a month slow leak the bottom of the pump has a couple drops dangling and discoloration, also found one of the heater hose lines that was previously fixed with a clamp was dripping, so tightened that up and see what it does, not sure if a couple drops under the water pump is normal or not

Ok. I have no idea how in the holy hell you get the steering wheel buttons reattached to those plugs!
Use a piece of fishing line or similar; loop it under the button assy, line up the plug as you push the assy into the hole partway, then loop the line over the top, hold it with one hand while holding the assy down and pull up on the loop of line while pushing down on the button assy. It’s tricky.

I made the leap.. after replacing the cluster with blue LEDs, and finding 3 bulbs in the climate control out, decided to swap the dash bulbs to blue LEDs as well. Just started on the steering wheel controls. I’m not sure how in the hell you’re supposed to get those out without breaking the tabs! [emoji2959][emoji35] Also changed up the headlight switch bulb install a bit. The kit has you just solder the bulb onto the board, and it’s not very bright because it’s so far away from the light pipe. I've replaced steering wheel controls without breaking tabs.

Sam, what did you do with the OEM led bulbs?
They were all pretty shot. I didn’t get too many out without breaking. The plastic around them was all brittle and had been overheated. In fact, the light pipe in the headlight assembly is pretty melted where the original bulb sat [emoji35]

Put 150 miles on my rig, no leaks with the filters. Was pretty dissatisfied with the spring clamps I got though. Going to see if I can't track down some nice thick OEM ones. Not sure the power steering side needs it but for the trans I opted for a bit of a dumb fuel injection clamp plus spring clamp combo for a bit of redundancy in the mean time. From what I can find the cooler circuits operate around 35psi which was more than I had faith in these lame things to operate at.

Noticed something a little weird though. The shifts seem better - crisper. Did a sanity Check and looked at my shift times and there's less variance with respect to throttle input. Didn't change the fluid or so much as need to add any. It appeared clean and I had the pan down to replace the internal filter not too long ago. Would strike me as odd that there would be enough hidden debris floating around to change it appreciably given that it's pretty well over-maintained. Going to take it on a more regular drive tomorrow and pay closer attention to the thing to verify it's wasn't a poorly timed artifact of an odd drive cycle or something strange in my driving conditions today (which admittedly was in much more traffic than I usually am in). Wish I had a way if measuring flow rate, absolute pressure, and pressure differential but meh... Not something I have access to as a home gamer. Will post back tomorrow on my observations. If I'm still noting different shifting, I'm half inclined to rip the thing off and cut it open to see what's going on


Power steering seems quieter, but I also changed out fluids nearly entirely and to a different brand - sucked it dry down to the tubes because I hate getting dripped on. Too many variables there to comment on anything one way or another but I wouldn't be surprised if these hydroboost systems have a **** load of particles floating around in them. They get worked pretty hard.

This is the full length of the first switch I pulled, with the airbag removed. No matter what I try, it’s just not even close to plugging back in. I don’t see any way to reattach this plug. 6b922a5dd0d8b303a0fbb833c68fcba6.jpg9922820c8dc7b7e7975d280a23c0e202.jpgonly way I can see to do this is extend the wires.. guess that’s what I’ll do.
