in some states you have to pay tax on the car or trucks worth every damn year. talk about double triple and so on taxation. picture buying a new car, its 40 grand, you pay 6.6% tax on that or what ever that states tax rate is, then the same next year and so on and so on. id venture to guess the value drops a couple thou every year, but damn thats a tax. then i think theres a reg fee too, but you cant get new reg until you pay the tax..... thats RI as i understand it.

all my cars here in NJ are 70 something a year in reg. just paid for the ss camaro, was 76.

inspection is free state ran every other year. ( you pass as long as the cel is off, and passes a obd scan. (was not always like this, this is a ****** state lol) unless its a new car, then you get a 5-7 year sticker from the dealership. bad side is a over due inspection sticker ticket is now over 300 bucks.

in other news, i sold off my regal gs. the hoe is now officially a daily driver. managed to get 2500 for a 22 year old car with 244,000 on the body lol now thats a free TC, trans cooler and install for my ss camaro. (hurts way less then using my savings.) and a few hundred off my insurance, and less one $76 reg fee lol
That was a badass Regal. Who'd you sell it to?

Here's Wix one I got ...not the XP one yet . It had a nasty Fram on it short one . You know them XP are $11.99 each ..Im still running conventional that's what first owner was using. All I could find was Havolin conventional 5w30 But with Wix bigger oil filter pressures up to 42 psi before with frame it was 36-38 psi . Don't know why hmm.4c7c503fa5d89d719a32c148511e66a7.jpg9b1ce169649bbf9eb8638f473b5cbd7d.jpg

It is so difficult to be PERFECT in a California smog test ( they keep raising the bar / New excuse for more needed money)..... I have heard difficult smog testing was solved by paying a testing station, found by a "friend" then pay a "fee" for them to find a clone car, and use the numbers for your car. I heard it is an underground industry.
now if the vehicle is 2000 or newer all they do is a visual inspection (cat's, 02's, or any intake mod's) then they hook it up to the obd computer, if there is no cel, 1 code pending or less you pass. no more tail pipe probe unless it is 99 or older, if it is pre 1972 or 1974 I don't remember which year is the cut-off then no smog inspection at all.
getting a illegal smog is hard to find anymore you really have to "know someone" and they switch it up on you by requiring you to go "smog only" station, versus a repair shop that also does smog inspections, the later of which is generally where you find "someone"

listed it on fb market place, and the 3800 market place, had 4 internet tire kickers in the first 3 days, 4 th day this guy wanted to come see it.

he actually showed up, i took him for a ride on wet roads. so he never got the full beans feeling. says he has to talk it over with his wife, as its for her to race in, all his cars he races are manuals and she dont want to break his cars. but he likes racing. he lives 10 minutes from island dragway bout a hr from me.

calls back that night, asks if he can drop a $1000 deposit on it and pick it up later this week. im like why sure you can!!! i have his cash in hand, just waiting for him to come take it home.

What’s the part number you used? Looking at Wix’ site, they list the 51042 & 51042XP, so I’d expect the XP variant to be the longer filter, but it’s listed as the same height as the other@ 3.404”..

I use the longer Wix filters as well. I’ve also run the NAPA filter that Fless mentioned.

I sought out the longer filter when I did the first oil change on mine back in Nov. I used the AC Delco PF61e

Emissions testing is money grab - it's all about the Benjamins. I have lived in places (metro areas) that required it, but now live in a place that gives the commies the finger - no testing required.

In keeping with the thread of what I did today, I hooked my Tahoe up to the trickle charger. Haven't driven it in a couple weeks and will still be a while. Using another whip this week.
