Hey y'all, so I've been working my way to do an entire refresh for not only the suspension system for an 08 Yukon Denali but doing my best to revitalize the entire vehicle but ill do another thread on that build another time.

So as well all know GM part numbers and RPO codes can get a bit convoluted at times, and there are times when a manufacturer tries to do too much. My question is this though, I have gmcpartsgiant telling me a 19420491 will fit for both sides of the vehicle for a strut rebuild. I'm aware there is a 19420492 part for the passenger side which is what Tasca is telling me, but do we know if they are interchangeable? I know they are electronically valved but wasn't sure if the resistance may be different to throw a code on the ESC module or not. Reason I'm asking is because I already purchased 2 19420491's and don't want to install them without verifying if I need to return one

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

That is a good question, but I think that the same part number strut will fit both sides, as it did on my 2007 Yukon XL Denali. To be sure, list the last 8 digits of your VIN (or the whole VIN) and let our resident parts number guru @915_Tahoe look it up and give us the current correct part number.

Do you have the short Yukon or the Yukon XL?

Also, these struts are now guaranteed for life if you purchase them through GM, which you are doing.

Thank you sir I appreciate the welcome.

I've done a bit of digging around here and that seems to be the case but I agree, all the free insight you can get never hurts.

From a mechanical standpoint the shock seems like it will be symmetrical in terms of mounting the insulators and top hat, so as long as the electronics are happy I don't see it being an issue, but I rather not assume if I could avoid it.

8J142058 is the last 8 of the vin.

Its a standard size versus the extended.

Took a couple of pics quick, she's a lil dirty right now and the drive way is loaded up haha...gotta love the salt baths we get here in NY
