Well f**k. The headlight switch came and I forgot the 00-02’s have different electrical systems so it doesn’t plug in. So if anybody wants one of the switches with the lights in them that tell you when your headlights are on, I have one in perfect condition that can be yours for $30 shipped. I’ll still lose a few bucks but that’s fine. I can’t plug it in and check the backlights so I’m assuming they work but can’t guarantee it.

Hate that! My '04 switch came today, so I'll install it in the next few days and hope the backlights work.

Waterpump sprung a leak on Wednesday, pretty sure it's the original. 127k miles not bad. Might have been just the gasket but I replaced the whole thing. Once I got in there some of the pullies didn't feel too good. Did those as well. Then I spun the alternator over and the bearing felt really bad. Went ahead and did that too. Can't believe how quiet it is now. Didn't realize how noisy it was. Love the way it sounds now! Install was enjoyable as well, love workingon these trucks, easy!

GF is having surgery on Tuesday so I scheduled off work that week to help her and the kids. Just ordered about 400 bucks worth of parts last night to keep me busy when she is down.

Just bought all four OEM lift gate struts from an ebay seller I've bought from before, with good prices - shocking since it's a dealer parts department. Reminds me of the old Dal Slabaugh days during my f-body years.

The liftgate glass struts have been bad for years, so I never open it. I was looking at all of them yesterday and when I closed the glass, it wouldn't trip the latch. I messed with it a number of times, rolling it by hand to almost locked and then shut the glass and it seemed to click shut. Seems I'll be disassembling things in the near future to see if I can figure out a solution. Not interested in $300+ for a new latch assembly.

The way you’re moving through projects that $400 worth of parts might only last a day or two. Better order some more, I’m thinking a supercharger cam and headers will do. ;)

Yesterday I hauled more concrete from the backyard to recycling. The auto level shocks performed great. I ran the pressure in the tires to 45 since they looked half flat. The Beast drove great, must have been 3/4 ton in the back based on the fact I hauled 1400 lbs of old telephone poles in it last week according to the scales and it was squatting more this time.

In my quest to appease the fuel vapor nazis.. er, the eh CEL P0455.. I replaced the vapor purge valve solenoid today. AC Delco part of course. Man, this intake is embarrassingly dirty. I think I need a need a TBSS, or NNBS intake to replace it.. [emoji3166]... but in the meantime, hoping this settles the CEL down and I don’t have to go further with the more fun parts replacements.

Sam, wondering about followup on this. Have you had any more CELs due to this? I'm about to do some tests on mine since I'm getting the P0455 code from time to time and my evap monitor doesn't seem to complete.

I'd love to one day! Id also like to get the transmission built by Precision Transmission out in Amarillo with a little higher stall as well.
