I washed the parts with blue Dawn, rinsed and let them dry thoroughly and then wiped with denatured alcohol and a dry cloth. You have to wear rubber gloves when applying the Cerakote. Also, you need to work fairly quickly because it starts to dry after awhile. The most important thing is make sure there's no water present or it will be splotchy.
Yeah, I have nothing bad to say about Milwaukee. I'd take either one based off price. They're both great tool manufacturers.

Looks like you spaced it off the surface. You'll get better heat dissipation if you mount it flush on the metal surface. Just a tip, not necessary, but the resistor may last longer.
Yeah I mounted them flush to a metal surface in the front, but in the back that's the plastic taillight housing and I spaced it to prevent it from melting the plastic.
I really like what you did with the underhood lightning. It's different. Did you use Eagle Eyes?
I wouldn't worry, it's fine since the whole thing is wrapped in a heatsink unlike the regular wire-wound resistors that are sometimes used.
Yup, the 23mm bright white ones. They are angled slightly outward to get full coverage. Those things are nice and bright, but the wires are so thin wiring them up takes a little finesse.
