Two days ago, I replaced the oil cooler blockoff plate with this billet style, which has an o-ring, rather than the gasket.

Went well, super easy job. And I believe this has addressed my small oil leak, which suddenly became a problem oil leak a few days ago. Thankfully, I had already ordered the part, and had a new Wix filter and 7 quarts of AC Delco 5W30 Full synthetic ready to go. Incidentally, these filters are getting harder to find every time.. I just ordered 6 from Oreilly auto, since they had none in stock locally. I’m just hoping they come in..

Also sprayed some Duplicolor low gloss 1634 (GM) over the grounds I had cleaned up a while back, since I got some grief for leaving unpainted and with just dielectric grease on them. Lol. No rust whatsoever.. gotta love the Colorado dry air.

I also discovered, during my efan install, and serpentine, idlers, tensioners, alternator, etc.. replacement, that my catch can was leaking. Not pleased about that, but I think it’s actually the valve I had installed as a replacement for the petcock valve it comes with. I used the sealer that came on the valve, rather than a quality thread sealer, and it was leaking out from there. All fixed up with ARP thread sealer, and a new o-ring, so hopefully no more leaks.

Looks identical to the ICT one I had, but without the logo. I see the ICT one is no longer available and only the ZWHIP is, and $2 cheaper. At least, compared to April 2020 prices.

I noticed that as well with the filters, even rock auto hadn’t had them in stock in a while...I might have to hoard a few more happy I got 3 while in stock last. Wonder what’s going on there.

This thing is pretty slick, I'm gonna do the ABS bleed on the brakes tomorrow. It keeps throwing a code for the ECBM and I noticed the wheel speed sensors fluctuating from each other a little. The ABS engages when coming up to a stop light. So I'm hoping to get that figured out.
These things are only $259 on Amazon right now, and they seem like a good tool to have. Says that it works on up to 2015 most vehicles, 2018 GM.

Not mine, but for the same neighbor that I fixed the cluster for a while back. Replaced the OE HVAC blower motor resistor for her manual controls. Had to replace the 9-wire pigtail, too, since a couple of the wires were burned and contacts melted. All 5 speeds work now. It was good practice for me, but I hope I never have to do it again.

Old on left, new on right. (Like you wouldn't know... ;) )
